Especially if it comes from one of the most talked about young chefs in the country, Anna Hansen.

Anna is the chef-owner of The Modern Pantry, which opened in August 2008 in Clerkenwell. Describing her style as classic cooking with a global twist, Anna has done great things with Macadamias before and showcases them in two wonderful recipes in her new cookbook - The Modern Pantry. It features not one but two recipes, Roast Cod with Beetroot and Macadamia Crumb and Cocoa, Cardamom and Macadamia Nut Cookies.

Anna Hansen Facts:

- Born in Canada and raised in New Zealand, Anna studied business management before venturing out into the world of food.
- Anna began her career in 1992 working as a kitchen porter at Fergus Henderson’s French House Dining Room and was swiftly elevated through the ranks.
- Anna then met fellow Kiwi chef Peter Gordon and from 1994. She worked on and off with him for 10 years at the restaurants Green Street, the Sugar Club, and Providores.
- Scandinavian influences (from her Danish grandmother) and nose-to-tail eating form the basis of exciting fusion cooking that is tempered by the charm of the traditional.
- She was selected by Fergus Henderson as one of the most significant young chefs working today for Coco, Phaidon's comprehensive book on who to watch in the culinary world.
- Anna's culinary philosophy is driven by the desire to please and excite the palate by renewing everyday cooking with modern ingredients and global inspiration;
