South African Macadamia Grower - Green Farms Wins Prestigious Award

The Levubu team of Green Farms Ltd, a macadamia nut grower based in South Africa, has won first place in the Productivity South Africa “Outstanding Achievement in Productivity Improvement”. They won the accolade in the Corporate Sector category at the Limpopo Province’s rewards ceremony in November 2011.

Primarily, Productivity SA is an organization which uses these awards as a tool to galvanize South African industry to become more competitive and productive. Productivity SA is affiliated with the Department of Trade and Industry and together they offer training programmes to help guide SA industries to become competitive world class performers.

Manuel Netili, the manager of the program in Limpopo, is very enthusiastic about how well the program has being received by Industry in Limpopo. He says that the success of the effort is thanks to the fact that all workers in Industry, from floor staff to top management, are involved in the Productivity Improvement Program. He makes it clear that the objective of the effort is to add value to South African Raw Materials, such as macadamia nuts, at a price suitable to remain competitive in the World market.
